Charles Skelley: Sending fewer US citizens to prison

Too many US citizens are being sent to prison. The United States has a higher percentage of citizens in its own prisons than any other developed country. Charles Skelley aims to reduce the number of people who are sent to prisons. In recent decades, various federal laws should have been designed such that a higher percentage of people will voluntarily obey the laws of their own country. As president, I will instruct Congress to change the combined package of Federal laws, so that only 50% as many US citizens will be sent to jail every year.

The cost of operating corrections prisons in the US is more than $60 billion per year to US taxpayers.

And the dollar cost alone does not count the personal stress on the general US population, both in prison and out of prison.
